Charlie is a very active and imaginative young boy who meets a new friend one summer’s day… Charlie sat on his tricycle gazing off into nowhere, seeing nothing, really. It was too hot to think. Slowly, his head began to droop until his hair tickled against the handlebars. He jerked his eyes open. “What was that?” he gasped. He was sure he saw a bright flash of light. “Maybe I just dreamed it,” he thought. “No, there it is again!” He watched as a bright golden light streaked across the sky just over the rooftops across the street. It traveled to the far end of the block, turned and came to rest gracefully on the sidewalk a few doors down from his house. The hair on the back of Charlie’s neck began to rise. Then, suddenly, he leaped off his tricycle and cried, “It’s a Magic Puppy!” The Apple Tree begins the journey of adventure and faith for young Charlie and a very special friend he calls Magic Puppy. It is the first in a series of four stories that came into being one night when a six year old boy asked, “Dad, could you tell us a bedtime story?” He liked puppies and he really liked apples. So, The Apple Tree was born. Now, Charlie and the Magic Puppy are coming to you in print. Each story follows Charlie as he grows toward maturity.
